Sunland Park is hosting a FREE Summer Play LA program beginning on July 6 and continuing through August 14. There will be 48 spots open each week, for kids ages 6-14. The program will run Monday through Friday, from 8a-4:30p, and will include lunch and a snack at no charge. Registration opens tomorrow promptly at 8:30a and it is first-come, first-served, so please go to: www.laparks.org/summerplayla to sign up for as many weeks as you would like to participate (spaces are not held from week to week, but you can register in advance for any that you’d like). In addition to the free program running from 8a-4:30p, extended care will also be available from 4:30p-6p for just $10/day.
Summer Play LA programs will be following all of the most up-to-date protocols, including the following:
– maximum group size of 8 children
– non-contact activities
– frequent hand washing and sanitizing breaks
– all activities adapted for social distancing
– all children and staff members will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon arrival
– frequent sterilizing of indoor spaces
– all three separate buildings across the park will be utilized to limit overlap
We are excited to bring this free childcare resource to the community, as more and more people are returning to work, as we move through the stages of re-opening. Please share this information out far and wide through the Sunland-Tujunga, Lake View Terrace, Shadow Hills, and La Tuna Canyon communities so we can reach those in need of this critical resource. For any additional questions, please contact Sunland Park Rec Center directly at 818-352-5282. Thank you, as always, and stay safe out there!
