The holiday season can be a time of great uncertainty and pressure for working families. The pandemic has only amplified food insecurity in my district.
That is why I was excited to partner with SEIU Local 121RN, MEND Poverty, and the Pacoima Neighborhood Council for a timely Thanksgiving Distribution Drive-Thru and Walk-Thru.
Thanks to our dedicated partners, volunteers, and staff, we distributed over 400 Thanksgiving meals to #AD39 residents.
Every care package included poultry items, fresh vegetables, bread, rice and beans, grains, fresh fruits, essential canned goods, sauces, fresh herbs, cornbread mix, spicy chilis, and activity books for the kids.
Additionally, my team held mobile district office hours and provided assistance on state resources.
