Today, the Los Angeles City Council approved the appointment of Kristin Crowley as the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Fire Chief. Chief Crowley will be the first woman to lead the LAFD in its 136-year history.
This historic vote is especially fitting on the first day of Womens History Month. Congratulations to Chief Crowley on a well deserved appointment. As Chair of the Public Safety Committee, I look forward to working with you in your new role.
