Yesterday marked the start of Womens History Month. Women in Los Angeles navigate a transportation system that is full of challenges and often unresponsive to their needs. To support an equitable and safe system, I introduced a motion in response to the study by LADOT Official “Changing Lanes: A Gender Equity Transportation Study”.
The motion aims to address efforts to develop and implement transportation programs that prioritize the needs of women of color and to identify the City resources required for these programs. I look forward to continuing to work with transit agencies and partner towards a more equitable and safe transit system for all.
