From Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez Desk – Resurfaced Filmore Street from Dronfield Avenue to Foothill Boulevard

Since taking office, I have prioritized investment in neighborhood infrastructure improvements such as upgrading pedestrian crosswalks and repairing damaged streets. By working with the Bureau of Street Services (BSS), severely deteriorated streets across the Seventh Council District have been resurfaced or repaired with an application of slurry seal.

BSS recently resurfaced Filmore Street from Dronfield Avenue to Foothill Boulevard. To improve pedestrian safety in this area, the crosswalk at Filmore Street and Cometa Avenue was redesigned. These improvements are among several I have delivered for our community to create safer streets and reduce collisions, injuries, and fatalities in the Seventh Council District.

For more information on upcoming resurfacing projects in the district, please visit the Streets LA website at https://streetsla.lacity.org/ and select ‘Road Repair’ or call my Sylmar District Office at (818) 756-8409, Pacoima District Office at (818) 485-0600, or Sunland-Tujunga District Office at (818) 352-3287.
