A state law, Senate Bill 1383, mandates that we keep organic waste out of landfills to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. In response, my office—in partnership with LA Sanitation—is offering *FREE* kitchen pails to help City of Los Angeles residents recycle their food scraps.
Customers can collect food scraps throughout the week using the kitchen pail and empty the contents of the pail into the green trash bin for weekly collection.

Please note: there’s a limit of one kitchen pail per household.
