Too often, Angelenos are tragically killed or injured as a result of badly maintained and poorly designed city streets. It’s why I have prioritized public safety since taking office, and why in collaboration with the Bureau of Street Services (BSS) and the Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT), my office identified Foothill Blvd., between Bledsoe St. and Polk St., in Sylmar as being in great need of positive change.
In addition to being resurfaced, Foothill Blvd. was recently reconfigured to one travel lane in each direction to calm traffic and create space for a new bike lane. Additional safety improvements include fresh paint and new crosswalks.
