I’m especially grateful to have honored my cousin, Mike Elizondo, for his work in music.
Mike is a Grammy Award-winning producer, songwriter, & musician. He recently co-produced Encanto w/ Lin-Manuel Miranda.
My friend, Bamby Salcedo, was also recognized for her work in human rights.
Bamby is the President & CEO of TransLatina Coalition. She has given a voice to LGBTQIA+ issues, including issues with immigration, incarceration, & HIV.
I was happy to see Yvette Merino who was recognized by the Latino Caucus for her achievement in Arts & Entertainment.
She is an Academy Award-winning producer of Encanto and the first Latina to receive the Oscar for an Animated Feature.
