In 2009, the City of Los Angeles identified an empty Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) lot as a potential location for a new public park to serve the community in Sylmar. After 14 years, West Lakeside Street Park will be opening this weekend!
The new 11-acre street park will feature a multi-sport field, walking path, amphitheater, and picnic area.
Join my office, the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks and LADWP to celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
The grand opening will feature resources booths, kids activities (including a soccer clinic hosted by Recreation and Parks), mariachi performances and a local school’s folklórico group, also an LADWP raffle for a free portable AC Unit, and food.
