🚸 In early February the City Council directed the Department of Transportation (LADOT) to establish school zone speed limits of “15 mph when children are present” at various street segments adjacent to 200 schools. Last week, I approved the Transportation Committee report and resolution to implement the School Safety Zone Speed Limits at schools, including 40 street segments at 14 schools in Council District 7 and I am committed to keeping students and families safe throughout our district through speed reductions, infrastructure improvements and enforcement efforts.
