I joined 53 of my colleagues calling Congress to take action and immediately shield the #PostalService. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy heard our outrage and just announced that he will suspend the controversial changes he instituted to the U.S. Postal Service until after the November election. While this is a major win to preserve democracy prior to the election, we must continue to apply pressure to #SaveTheUSPostalService after the election because:
-#USPS employees are #essentialworkers,
-USPS employs members of our community,
-USPS is the single largest employers of veterans,
-Our mail gets delivered regardless of weather conditions, and
-USPS ensures medical devices, medication, food, and other essential goods are delivered to households, particularly for seniors, people with disabilities and hard to reach areas.
