As part of my continued effort to elevate youth voice and participation in the City of Los Angeles, Iām proud to announce that last month marked the culmination of the Council District 7 Youth Council. Twenty-three youth participated, representing each neighborhood across the 7th Council District. Youth council members spent the last ten-months identifying neighborhood issues and working as a team to develop strategies and solutions. This week they had the opportunity to present their ideas to local policymakers from the Los Angeles Youth Development Department, Housing + Community Investment Department, and LA Civil + Human Rights and Equity Department.
