Congratulations to Fernandeno Tataviam Band of Mission Indians for receiving over $1 million in grants to assist their climate resilience efforts.
They received:
– $180,000 from the 2021 California Resilience Challenge Grant
– $25,000 from the Environmental Justice Fund
– $800,000 from the 2022 Regional Climate Collaboratives grant to create the 2030 Resilient Networks Collaborative, a tribal led collaborative group that will establish and execute Tribal climate resilience projects.
In the face of mounting climate threats such as heightened and lengthened wildfire seasons, increasingly extreme heat, intensifying floods, and more frequent drought conditions within the Tribe’s boundaries, I was proud to support this critical investment which will center Tribal community needs and concerns in California’s resilience planning.
Many thanks to Climate Resolve for assisting the Fernandeño Tataviam Band of Mission Indians. When we all come together, we can effectively address climate change. #AD43
