In November 2019, I launched Operation Bright SPOT (Strategic Partnership Outfoxing Trash) in partnership with NEGB- Northeast Graffiti Busters, the Los Angeles Sanitation & Environment, and the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services. This program cleans business corridors and delivers long-overdue services to the 7th Council District. Through a targeted cleanup plan, Operation Bright Spot team members conduct street sweeping, red curb painting, graffiti removal, weed abatement, bulky item pick up, gum removal, and power washing of sidewalks. I secured $200,000 to fund Operation Bright Spot and the district wide program will extend through the end of 2020.
This month, Operation Bright Spot brought its services to North Hills. For the week of January 6th to January 10th, the Operation Bright Spot team focused on Nordoff Street from Orion Avenue to Sepulveda Boulevard. The team repainted existing red curbs, removed gum off sidewalks, power washed sidewalks, picked up illegal dumping and swept our streets. These efforts ensure our community stays clean and beautiful. See a business corridor in need of cleaning? Call my district office at 818-485-0600.
