Today marks the 34th Annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day. Each year, we honor the achievements of female athletes, encourage girls to join sports programs in their communities and empower all women to continue advocating for equality in the sports industry. For years, female athletes have fought for equal opportunity and still continue to fight for equal pay. Much has progressed since the passing of Title 9, however, we still have more work to do. When girls play sports, they learn important skills such as teamwork, leadership, and confidence. Let us continue to support female athletes and acknowledge their triumphs throughout history.
