Today I co-introduced a motion to cut funding to the LAPD. These times demand a more careful reflection of our Cityโs priorities and values — no single department should be exempt from review. We must take a closer look at how we conduct business and reprogram dollars back into communities, like ours in the Northeast San Fernando Valley, which have suffered from economic distress.
The proposal calls for cuts between $100 million and $150 million from the LAPD’s 2020-21 budget and will be reviewed by the City Council in the coming weeks. Read the motion here: https://tinyurl.com/ya2crxtg
