I had the opportunity to visit Mission Community Hospital to learn about the various health care services and programs offered to community members within the San Fernando Valley.
Mission Community Hospital provides patients with several services including 24-hour emergency, medical, surgical, and psychiatric care.

Thank you Fenton Charter Elementary School for inviting me to your “Hispanic Heritage Eye to the Future-Success for Hispanic Students in the Sciences” celebratory event in Pacoima.
Through this event, the school aimed to give their students early exposure to career pathways in STEM. It was difficult being one of the few Latinas in my electrical engineering classes, and because of that, I hope to expand educational pathways in STEM to all students. As a state legislator, I remain committed to closing the digital divide for youth across the state.

My office will be giving away FREE fruit trees next Monday, October 17, from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Pacoima City Hall. This event is in partnership with the Los Angeles Conservation Corps. Trees are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

You must have (1) a valid California ID/driver’s license or utility bill and (2) live within the Pacoima/Sun Valley communities.

As part of California’s Clean California initiative, Caltrans District 7 is offering a free community Dump Day on Saturday, October 15th (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) for North Hollywood and neighboring communities. Residents are invited to bring their unwanted furniture and bulky household items to be disposed of for free.

Clean California Dump Day events provide a service to communities across the state by giving Californians a place to bring their household waste for proper disposal. These events discourage and prevent illegal dumping along the State Highway System by providing the public a means to avoid landfill fees and creating equitable access to disposal options for all Californians.

It’s great to be back in my district! Since I returned to #AD39, I have had the chance to meet with Zaid Diaz-Arias, Secretary for North Hollywood Northeast.
Zaid was raised in North Hollywood. He put his passion for youth and community advocacy at the forefront of his career.

We had the opportunity to discuss the importance of youth involvement in policy. I was happy to share with Zaid that last year I authored AB 46, a bill that established the Califoria Youth Empowerment Commission, which aims to provide young people in California the chance to have their voices heard by legislators.

I was thrilled to honor Zaid for all of his efforts in bringing his community and local government together. It is an honor to represent a distinguished member of the district!
